The Israeli military has once again threatened to strike multiple buildings in southern Beirut, Lebanon, Al Jazeera reported on Tuesday. The IDF has reportedly asked residents to evacuate the region just hours before a ceasefire is set to take effect. Avichay Adraee, Israel's spokesperson for Arabic-language media, posted a map on X marking numerous buildings in Beirut's Ghobeiry and Borj-el-Brajneh suburbs as targets.

Hezbollah Claims It Attacked Israeli Air Force Chief's Home

Shortly after Israel disclosed its targets and evacuation warnings on X, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for a drone strike on the residence of the Israeli Air Force chief in Tel Aviv.

In a statement on Telegram, the group said, "One of the sensitive military targets targeted in the city of Tel Aviv was the residence of the commander of the Israeli Air Force, Major-General Tomer Bar, with a squadron of qualitative dive drones. The operation achieved its goals precisely."

Hezbollah later added that it had struck "sensitive military targets in the city of Tel Aviv and its suburbs," but provided limited details regarding the attacks.

With only hours remaining before the ceasefire takes effect, both sides have escalated cross-border strikes.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently confirmed his agreement to a ceasefire deal with Hezbollah but warned that Israel would respond with force if the agreement were violated.

Leaders React to the Upcoming Ceasefire

Several global leaders have expressed support for the upcoming ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon.

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock praised the agreement, calling it "a ray of hope for the entire region."

"People on both sides of the border want to live in genuine and lasting security," she said in a statement.

European Union chief Ursula von der Leyen also hailed the decision, writing on X that the ceasefire would enhance Lebanon's "internal security and stability."
