Recently, the actress shared that when filmmaker Milan Luthria offered her the movie, she was set on doing it. She also revealed if she would like to do a sequel to the film.
Vidya Balan on doing The Dirty Picture
In a recent chat with Galatta India, Vidya Balan shared that she loved the concept of The Dirty Picture and always wanted to do it, despite people around her not being fully convinced. However, Vidya called herself a ‘hungry actor’ and said that she accepted the offer to play Reshma as soon as Milan Luthria came to her with the offer. The actress also accepted that she was not offered that kind of role ever, and that it was her best career decision.

Talking about how people said The Dirty Picture would not go with her ‘image’, Vidya stated, “I remember a few people saying that your image is very different. I said what image? I’ve started my career just now. I’m just a few films old. I don’t want to be even at this stage I don’t want to be limited by an image.”
Will Vidya Balan act in The Dirty Picture sequel?
In the same interview, Vidya was asked if she would like to be a part of the film's sequel, to which she said, "I would love to. I'm ready for it. I'm fully ready for it, and I feel that, yeah, it would be great. You know it's been a while since I've done a juicy role, you know."
