Elon Musk has once again voiced his determination to establish a human colony on Mars, envisioning a future where regular interplanetary trips become reality. His latest remarks came in response to a post by X user Dima Zeniuk, who suggested Musk's increased political engagement aligns with his Mars aspirations. Zeniuk wrote, “One of the main reasons Elon Musk became more active in politics is his goal to reach Mars and make life possible there.” Musk confirmed, replying with, “True.”
In his reply, Musk added, “I think Donald Trump winning makes a big difference in humanity getting to Mars and making life multiplanetary. This might one day save life as we know it,” underscoring his view on the importance of spacefaring for humanity's future.
The SpaceX website expands on Musk’s Mars vision, describing Mars as one of Earth’s closest habitable neighbours with an atmosphere primarily made of CO₂, nitrogen, and argon, suggesting the potential for cultivating plants by “compressing the atmosphere.” Gravity on Mars, it notes, is 38% that of Earth’s, allowing for heavier lifting and easy movement.
Highlighting his larger goal, Musk’s message echoes a quote on the SpaceX site: “You want to wake up in the morning and think the future is going to be great… It’s about believing in the future… and being among the stars.”
