Many iPhone users recently reported an odd phenomenon with the Facebook app. Several people reported in the last few days that the Facebook icon that appears in the menu tray had suddenly turned from blue to black. Only some iPhone users reported facing the issue.
On August 30, Business Insider reported citing a spokesperson of Meta, the parent company of Facebook, that the icon turning black was caused by a technical glitch. “This was caused by a technical issue and has been resolved. People will see the fix when they update their app,” Meta communications manager Dave Arnold said in a statement.
Some users on social media also suspected that the sudden, unexplained change in colour could have something to do with a bug in the app. Notably, only iPhone users have reported facing this issue, but some say that users of Android-based smartphones might also face it.
