Apple has launched the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus at its latest hardware event, introducing several upgrades while retaining many features from previous models. and run on iOS 18, marking a significant performance boost and offering support for Apple Intelligence, the company’s AI technology. The iPhone 16 series continues to feature a dual rear camera setup, similar to its predecessors, and also introduces two new physical controls: the Action button, first seen on the iPhone 15 Pro, and a new Camera Control button for improved photo and video functionalities.

iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus Pricing in India, Availability

Apple's iPhone 16 lineup has been launched with varying prices in the US and Indian markets. In the US, the iPhone 16 starts at $799 (approximately ₹67,000), while the iPhone 16 Plus is priced at $899 (around ₹75,500). The iPhone 16 Pro begins at $999 (around ₹83,870) for 128GB storage, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max starts at $1,199 (approximately ₹1 lakh) for the 256GB variant.

In India, the iPhone 16 is priced at ₹79,900, and the iPhone 16 Plus at ₹89,900. The iPhone 16 Pro starts at ₹1,19,900, while the top-tier iPhone 16 Pro Max is available for ₹1,44,900. The pricing difference between the two markets is due to factors like taxes and import duties.

In terms of display, the iPhone 16 features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED screen with up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness, offering sharp visuals and vibrant colors. The iPhone 16 Plus sports the same specifications but has a larger 6.7-inch screen. Both phones are equipped with Ceramic Shield protection and have an IP68 rating, making them resistant to water and dust. Additionally, the Dynamic Island, which houses front-facing sensors and the TrueDepth camera, continues to be a key feature.

The A18 chipset, built using a 3nm process, powers both devices, offering a six-core CPU, five-core GPU, and a 16-core neural engine. These specifications ensure better performance and efficiency, especially for AI-powered features. The camera system includes a 48-megapixel main sensor with 2x in-sensor zoom and a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens, which also supports macro photography. Spatial video and photo capture have been introduced, adding depth and realism to media.

For connectivity, the iPhone 16 series supports 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, and features a USB Type-C port. While Apple has not disclosed battery capacities or RAM details, these are expected to be revealed later during device teardowns.

With new features like the Camera Control button and enhanced AI integration, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus build on Apple’s smartphone legacy, providing users with improved performance, refined design, and cutting-edge camera capabilities.
