Travellers between New Delhi and Varanasi have a new train they can choose for a faster commute between the two cities! The Indian Railways' first 20-coach Vande Bharat Express train has begun commercial service, significantly boosting passenger capacity and reducing travel times.
Developed by the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai, this new train offers 1,440 seats, a substantial increase compared to the previous 16- and 8-coach versions. This means shorter waitlists and a better chance of snagging last-minute tickets.
Replacing the earlier models, these new Vande Bharat Express trains operate under the Northern Railway zone. They cover the 771 km journey in approximately 8 hours, making them the fastest option on this route.
