India are all set to return to action after 45 days as they take on Bangladesh in a two-match Test Series beginning on September 19. The first match is set to take place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, while the second match is set to take place at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. However, there have been rumours that the second match might be moved out of Kanpur. However, a BCCI official has cleared the air regarding this.
Concerns regarding the match that is being held on September 27 at Kanpur arose when an outfit named the Hindu Mahasabha threatened to protest outside the stadium against the atrocities of Hindus that are happening in Bangladesh. According to a report by Sports Tak, a BCCI official has said that they have taken all necessary measures and are closely monitoring the situation with the concerned authorities. He assured that the stadium is fully prepared to host both India and Bangladesh.
"Yes, we are closely monitoring the situation in coordination with the concerned authorities. We have taken all necessary measures to ensure the match goes ahead as scheduled, and the stadium is fully prepared to host both teams," he said.
The official further reinstated the fact that the second Test is not going anywhere and will be held in Kapur. However, they will have an eye on other developments.
"The match is not going anywhere — it will be held in Kanpur. However, we will continue to keep an eye on developments, both in Kanpur and at the other venues," he added.
