New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met ministers of the Gujarat government and other senior officials of the state during his first visit to his home state after being sworn in as PM for a third straight term in June.
Sources said that PM Modi held one-on-one meetings with ministers and checked their performance as he met them Monday. The meeting went on till late in the night as the prime minister sought details on their work and advised them to ensure timely implementation of work initiated by their departments, the source said.
"Modi himself saw the report cards of each minister," the source said.
It is learnt that PM Modi sought details on the upcoming changes in the Gujarat government and organization.
Apart from ministers, PM Modi also met senior officials of all departments of the Gujarat government.
The Gujarat government is expected to hold a three-day Chintan Shivir in November.
The discussion in Chintan Shivir will be on the basis of one year report card given to PM Modi.
The last camp was held in Kevadian in May 2023, where the agenda for one year was decided.
After the election results of the upcoming four states, there will be major changes at the Gujarat government and organizational level.
Earlier on Monday, PM Modi addressed a rally in Ahmedabad where he laid the foundation stones for multiple development projects worth over Rs 8,000 crores and inaugurated the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail. Addressing the crowd, PM Modi said, "Jiyunga toh aapke liye, jhukta rahunga toh aapke liye, ji-jaan se khapta rahunga toh aapke liye (I will live for you, I will remain humble for you, and I will work with all my heart for you)".
The Prime Minister also talked about fulfilling his promises made during the election. "During the Lok Sabha elections, I guaranteed the countrymen that unprecedented decisions would be taken in the first 100 days of my third term. In the last 100 days, I spared no effort to fulfil the agenda of 100 days. I left no stone unturned in India and abroad," he said.
"During these 100 days, work has commenced on projects worth Rs 15 lakh crore. I promised during the elections to construct 3 crore new houses, and we are making rapid progress on this," he added.
