President Joe Biden seemed confused as he greeted world leaders in New York with a 'Welcome to Washington' during his address at an event in Midtown Manhattan on Wednesday. This was the 81-year-old's latest gaffe after being forced to end his presiential campaign over concerns about his mental and physical fitness.
Speaking at the InterContinental New York Barclay hotel, Biden said: "Thank you, thank you, thank you. Welcome to Washington." He, however, did not stop to correct his mistake and continued his speech.

"Fellow leaders, friends, for 944 days Putin has waged his vicious onslaught against Ukraine,” he said, showing his support for Kyiv. He repeatedly addressed President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as one 'Mr President'. After Biden, Zelenskyy, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Italy PM Giorgia Meloni (via video feed) spoke at the event.

After Biden's 'Welcome to Washington' clip went viral on X, platform formerly known as Twitter, one person noted: "This is the decline Kamala covered up."
"I can’t be embarrassed anymore. It just got too old with him," another one added on the Elon Musk-led platform.

In July, President Biden registered one of his most 'laughed at' gaffes, wher the 81-year-old introduced Ukraine's Zelenskyy as 'President Putin' – confusing the Kyiv leader with the Russian Presient he has been fighting for the past two years.
“And now I want to hand it over to the president of Ukraine, who has as much courage as he has determination,” Biden said. “Ladies and gentlemen, President [Vladimir] Putin."
