Jaipur: IAS officer Tina Dabi, known for clearing the UPSC Civil Service Examination on her first attempt in 2015 and being a topper, has once again made headlines following her recent transfer by the Rajasthan government on Friday. In a major administrative reshuffle, the government transferred 102 officers, appointing Dabi as the Collector of the Barmer district, 150 kilometres away from her husband Pradeep Gawande’s posting in Jalore.
This reshuffle also saw IAS Pragya Kewalraman taking on additional duties as the Divisional Commissioner of Banswara Udaipur, while Jitendra Soni received the responsibility of Dudu and Jaipur Rural district.
Dabi was serving as the Commissioner of the Employment Guarantee Scheme Department in Jaipur. Known for frequently being in the spotlight, from her UPSC achievements to her personal life, she previously held the position of Jaisalmer district Collector before taking maternity leave in July.
Dabi had shared an emotional post thanking her colleagues for their support when she was posted in Jaisalmer. During her leave, the 2013-batch IAS officer Ashish Gupta was appointed in her place.
She had requested a non-field position, leading to her role as the Commissioner of the Employment Guarantee Scheme. Her younger sister Riya Dabi, who passed the UPSC in 2020, is also an IAS officer.
