NewJeans recently spoke out against HYBE. Now, the label is under formal investigation over workplace bullying allegations.

During NewJeans’ recent livestream, Hanni had revealed that the manager of another HYBE group had instructed the members to ignore her. NewJeans’ fandom were outraged by Hanni’s revelation and accused HYBE/ADOR of violating labour laws. Soon after, the group’s fans began submitting workplace harassment complaints to the Seoul Western District Labor Office of the Ministry of Employment and Labour.

An official from the ministry's customer service center stated that over 100 complaints related to ADOR and NewJeans had been filed till September 13. Following that, the labour inspector in-charge confirmed that an investigation against HYBE would take place according to procedure. The investigation will assess whether the label's actions contravened Article 76-2 and Article 76-3, which address harassment in the workplace.

For the unversed, on September 11, NewJeans held a livestream during which they demanded Min Hee-jin's reinstatement as ADOR's CEO and spoke up about HYBE's 'inhumane' treatment. During the same broadcast, Hanni recounted a shocking encounter she shared with another HYBE group. The NewJeans member revealed that when she and the members of another HYBE group greeted each other at the company, the manager of the group instructed the members to ignore her. Hanni expressed her confusion over the situation, shedding light on potential workplace harassment within the company.
About HYBE vs ADOR feud
NewJeans spoke out against HYBE as the company’s feud with former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin continues to grow. It all started on April 22, when HYBE initiated an audit against Min Hee-jin. HYBE accused ADOR’s management of devising a plan to takeover the sub-label, leaking sensitive information to external entities and attempts to tarnish the reputation of HYBE and its artists.
