The legendary tennis star Andre Agassi has found a new passion in Pickleball, thanks to a nudge from his friend and fellow tennis great Andy Roddick.
Agassi was introduced to Pickleball a few years ago when Roddick invited him to participate in a fundraising match. "I didn't even know the rules," Agassi admitted to the AP in an interview, recalling his initial uncertainty about the sport.
At that time, he had no idea if he would continue with it or if it was just a one-time experience.
Despite his lack of knowledge, Agassi was quickly drawn to Pickleball. When his children suggested playing together, he enthusiastically joined in and soon became hooked.
Roddick, in another chat with People, revealed that indulging in Pickleball has allowed him to catch up with Agassi.
"What has been pretty fun is getting the daily analysis from Andre Agassi and his breakdowns of what he's learned, what's working for him, what we should do," Roddick says. "It's been kind of a fun excuse to reconnect almost on a daily basis now," said Roddick.
Not many would know but Roddick's wife, actress Brooklyn Decker, also tried playing Pickleball.
"My wife got out on the court last week for about five minutes, but she's curious about it," Roddick concluded.
