This tournament captivated the audience where several legends of the game such as Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Shane Warne, Wasim Akram, Shoaib Malik, Sanath Jayasuriya, Anil Kumble, Umar Akmal, Glenn Maxwell and Damien Martyn have played in this tournament.

Pakistan, England and South Africa being the most successful teams. India won it in 2005.

When India last played in the Hong Kong Sixes in 2012, it was represented by the likes of Shafiq Khan, Amit Uniyal, Ankur Sharma, Dharmender Phagna, Kinchit Shah, Mirnal Saini, Neeraj Chauhan, and Sumit Abbi.

Hong Sixes Rules

The tournament’s format is unique as matches are played between two teams of six players. Each game consists of a maximum of five overs for each side. But the title clash will see each team bowl five overs comprising of eight balls, up from the six deliveries in normal matches. Barring the wicket-keeper, every member of the fielding side will have to bowl one over, while wides and no-balls will count as two runs. Batsmen are forced to retire at 31 but can come back in once all other batsmen have been dismissed or have retired.
