Hip-hop master DJ Clark Kent has died at the age of 58. The music stalwart who has produced hits for Jay-Z, Notorious B.I.G. and Mariah Carey, passed away after a three-year battle with colon cancer. His family announced the tragic news on social media through a statement.
The statement revealed Clark's health condition, and stated that he breathed his last in the presence of his family on October 24.

"It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of the beloved Rodolfo A. Franklin, known to the world as DJ Clark Kent.
Clark passed away Thursday evening surrounded by his devoted wife Kesha, daughter Kabriah and son Antonio. Clark quietly and valiantly fought a three year battle with Colon Cancer, while continuing to share his gifts with the world. The family is grateful for everyone’s love, support and prayers during this time and ask for privacy as they process this immense loss."

Soon after the news broke, tributes started pouring in from fans and his industry friends. Rapper Lady London wrote on X (formely Twitter), "My heart hurts really bad. Like really really bad. I love you. I’m sorry. This year has taken so much from me. I’ll never forget you. From 3 years old to forever , you will remain a powerhouse in my world. God’s favorite, and mine. Rest in perfect peace," along with sharing clicks with Kent.
Scottie Beam posted a video with him and wrote, "I used to review upcoming hip hop artist music with Hip Hop icons called #ScottieFeedback. DJ Clark Kent did not hesitate to come and hear out some talent. He loved this art so much, man."
Pete Rock posted on Instagram, "i have known you since i was 13. Taking the train all the way to brooklyn just to come practice and dj with you. From rooftop union square latin quarter & madison square garden hanging out with. DJing on the radio with you. You showing me dj routines in my house in the basement. i knew you was the right person to be around if i wanted to sharpen my skills. DJ Clark Kent's real name was Rodolfo Franklin. The record producer and music executive also worked as a disc jockey.
