According to local legend, the temple was constructed before the official establishment of Jaipur, and the Maharaja prayed to Lord Ganesha here for blessings and protection over the new city. What sets this temple apart is its unique idol of Ganesha—depicted in a childlike form (baal roop) called Purushakriti, without the iconic elephant head.

How to get to Garh Ganesh Temple
Located about 5 kilometres from the centre of Jaipur, the temple is accessible by both taxis and auto-rickshaws. But from the base of the hill, you’ll have to climb on foot. It is therefore not ideal for people who are old or have issues with climbing.
