The Duleep Trophy 2024 is underway as some of the most promising players for India are in action alongside some the biggest Team Indian stars. One of the two opening matches of the tournament that is taking place is the India C vs India D match at Anantapur. The match saw one of the most viral IPL 2024 moments being recreated, and it involved star fast bowler Harshit Rana and India C captain Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Ruturaj Gaikwad did not impress in his first outing in the Duleep Trophy. He was dismissed for 5 runs in 19 balls. The man to take his wicket was Harshit Rana, after Gaikwad edged a ball straight into the hands of KS Bharat in slips. After taking his wicket, Rana celebrated in his typical fashion, as he blew a flying kiss to the India C skipper.

Harshit Rana's infamous flying kiss celebration became the talk of the town when he first showcased it during the IPL 2024 against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in their opening match of the competition. He did so when he dismissed veteran batter Mayank Agarwal during this match. In fact, Rana was even suspended for one IPL match after he pulled off this celebration.

Axar Patel Shines On Wicket-Laden Day 1

Coming back to the match, India C wo the toss and decided to bowl first, and it was their bowlers that were doing the trick against India D. No batter could get going as they lost their first 8 wickets for 78 runs, and it looked like they would be rattled under 100. However, Axar Patel stood firm with the bat, as he scored 86 from 116 balls in an innings studded with 6 fours and 6 sixes. India D were all out for 164 runs in the first innings. Vijaykumar Vyshak was the star with the ball taking 3 wickets.

India C ended the day with a score of 91/4, with Abhishek Porel batting on 35 and Baba Indrajith on 15. Harshit Rana picked up the two important Sai Sudharsan and Ruturaj Gaikwad.
