Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi is a festival that is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Lord Ganesh. The festival is celebrated by Hindus and marks the birth anniversary of Lord Ganesha who was born on Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month. This year, Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on Saturday, September 7. The Madhyahna Ganesha Puja Muhurat will begin at 11:03 AM and end at 01:34 PM. The festivity of Ganesh Chaturthi which is also known as Ganeshotsav ends after the 10th day on Anant Chaturdashi. This is also known as Ganesh Visarjan Day wherein people immerse the idol of Lord Ganesh in a water body. This year, Ganesh Visarjan will take place on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.
