An unidentified hacker reportedly gained access to a computer file revealing that Matt Gaetz, who is President-elect Donald Trump's pick for attorney general, had sex with a minor in 2017. According to a New York Times report, a woman said she got intimate with the Florida congressman when she was 17. Another one swore that she witnessed the encounter.
Citing a source, NYT added that the file of 24 exhibits includes sworn testimony by the two women. The publication further stated that the information was downloaded by a person using the name Altam Beezley at 1:23 PM local time on Monday.

This comes as Matt Gaetz is under investigation by the House Ethics Committee and Justice Department. Earlier this year, federal prosecutors declined to bring charges against him. The panel is looking into allegations that the former congressman engaged in sexual misconduct and illicit drug use. Gaetz resigned his seat in the House last week after Trump announced he had selected the Florida Republican to serve as his attorney general.
