New Delhi: Lord Ganesha has been welcomed in numerous houses on Saturday, on the first day of Ganesh Chaturthi, a festival celebrated across the country. Various avatars of Ganpati Bappa were seen with people blending their belief and creativity to form the as magnificent idol of Bappa as possible.

From Mumbai, Pune and Nashik to Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad, the festivities coloured the devotees in one colour- the colour of Ganpati's devotion.

In West Bengal's Siliguri, Lord Ganesh was draped in a black dress with a statue of women in front of him- representing Lalbagucha Raja's fight against violence against women. In Chennai, a 40-ft-tall Lord Ganesh idol was made of 6000 Thambulam plates.

Apart from these, 1500 Kamakshi lamps and 350 seashells were also installed. In Chennai only, BJP members and leaders unveiled a magnificent replica of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir for Ganesh Chaturthi. This replica, revealed during the festival, closely resembles Ram Lalla, whose 'Pran Pratishta' was done in Ayodhya on January 22.

In West Bengal's Bhawanipore, a sweet shop prepared a 500 kg laddu to add to the flavour of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.

In Odihsa's Mayurbhanj, a unique 15-ft idol of lord Ganesh made of 25,000 glass bangles installed in Baripada.

An idol of Lord Ganesh was made in which Ganpati is seated on the replica of LCA Tejas Mark 1A fighter jet at a residence in Mumbai. The designer who designed this said that he builds the idols each year based on the developments that took place in India that year.

Meanwhile, in Andheri East, the world's tallest eco-friendly Ganpati idol, known as the "Boomerang ka Raja," was unveiled. The 26.1-foot tall eco-friendly Ganesh idol has set a world record.

It weighs 300 kilograms and is made from 3.5 lakh tissue papers, 22 kilograms of glue and 45 kilograms of metal.

A 70-ft-tall Lord Ganesh idol was installed in Khairatabad area of Hyderabad for devotees who arrive here to offer prayers on Ganesh Puja.
