Tom Brady’s much anticipated NFL broadcasting debut didn’t go as per the expectations. The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback signed a 10-year deal worth $375 million with Fox Sports.
The 7 time Super Bowl champion was introduced in a new role in the Dallas Cowboys vs Cleveland Browns match but most of the fans were disappointed as they didn’t like his approach in the commentary. Fans slammed the NFL legend on social media.
One wrote, "Maybe someone should have listened to Tom Brady actually say words before dropping $300 million on him."
Another fan pointed out, "I don't know if Tom Brady will end up being a bad broadcaster, but it's jarring how nervous he sounds today."
Another posted, “Tom Brady just said it’s hard to make 10, but really hard to make 20 yards. That’s what $375 million worth of analysis gets you folks.”
People felt that the 47 year old sounded monotonous during the whole commentary stint and his lack of excitement and energy were some of the reasons behind his poor start in his broadcasting career.
Ahead of his NFL broadcasting debut Brady sounded excited to kickstart his new innings. As quoted by CBS he said, "Obviously super excited. There's a little anxiousness, obviously. There's been a lot of preparation thjat's gone into it by a lot of people. And it's been a couple year journey," Brady said. "But I think the thing that's most exciting for me is getting back to NFL football, being up here in the booth. I've got the best partner with Kevin [Burkhardt], Erin [Andrews] down on the field with Tom Rinaldi, we've got a great group, there's so many talented people that I get to work with. I get to be a part of a great team. And I get to cover a sport that I absolutely love."
