The 10 IPL franchises recently unveiled their list of retained players and now the fans are eagerly waiting for the IPL 2025 mega-auction. The two-day event will take place outside of India once again and the BCCI has inked on Riyadh for the event. The IPL 2025 mega-auction is set to clash with the India-Australia Test series as it will take place on November 24 and 25. The first India-Australia Test is scheduled to be played from November 22 to 26 in Perth.
Punjab Kings will enter the mega-auction with the highest purse of Rs 110.5 crore. They retained uncapped batsmen Shashank Singh and Prabhsimran Singh. Rajasthan Royals will have the lowest purse.
The Rajasthan-based franchise retained Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel, Shimron Hetmyer, Riyan Parag and Sandeep Sharma. Sandeep last played for India in 2015 and he was retained in the uncapped category for Rs 4 crore.
Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will be without the Right to Match (RTM) card in the mega-auction. Punjab can use 4 RTM cards during the two-day event.

IPL 2024 winning captain Shreyas Iyer will be part of the mega-auction along with Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul. Iyer ended KKR's decade-long wait and captained them to their third IPL title. But the defending champions couldn't retain him.
Rishabh reportedly decided against staying at Delhi Capitals (DC). He joined DC in the IPL 2016 mini-auction and was part of the team for 8 years. He took over as DC's captain before IPL 2021 and led them in three seasons. DC are yet to win the IPL title.
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) signed KL Rahul before the IPL 2022 mega-auction for Rs 17 crore. While LSG made it to the second round of two seasons, they didn't play an IPL final under him.
