Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s decision to name their daughter Dua drew some mixed reactions from anonymous beings on the internet. The announcement led to some unsolicited advice. Well, the proud parents turn a deaf ear to naysayers rightfully. Nobody has asked for opinions nor do they care.
A little birdie revealed that Ranveer and Deepika are exemplary parents. They are not in favour of having even their closest friends over in the fear that Dua—yup, that’s what their darling daughter is called—would be exposed to infectious elements. A close friend of Deepika described her as a “paranoid mother, in a good way.”

The anonymous faces hidden behind the shelter of their phones and laptops once targeted Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor who named their elder son, Taimur. There were similar howls of protest about that being the name of a tyrannical invader. Errrrr….that was a century ago, this Taimur is from another era. Every Adolf is not a Hitler. But every Dua is divine. Whether it is a Hindu or a Muslim, a prayer is not a slave to any language.
In this context, Dilip Kumar who had to change his name from Yusuf Khan to Dilip Kumar, once said, “I had to change my name from Yusuf Khan to Dilip Kumar to feel a sense belonging. I hope future generations do not have to resort to such camouflaging tactics to be able to feel comfortable.”
