Elon Musk called the X ban in Brazil an 'attack on free speech'. The tech billionaire who leads the platform, which was formerly known as Twitter, referred to Brazilian Justice Alexandre de Moraes as a 'tyrant'. His reaction came minutes after the country's apex court ordered the suspension of X in Brazil, saying Musk did not name a legal representative, according to a copy of the decision seen by The Associated Press
"Free speech is the bedrock of democracy and an unelected pseudo-judge in Brazil is destroying it for political purposes," Musk tweeted on Friday. "The attacks this year on free speech are unprecedented in the 21st century. It will happen in America too if Kamala/Walz gain power. Just listen to what they’ve said," the Tesla and SpaceX CEO added in another post.

The X ban in Brazil came a day after de Moraes warned Musk that X could be blocked in Brazil if he failed to comply with his order to name a representative, and established a 24-hour deadline. The company hasn’t had a representative in the country since earlier this month. According to market research group Emarketer, some 40 million Brazilians access X at least once per month.
