Tech Billionaire Elon Musk, who hosted Saturday Night Live in 2021, slammed the show on social media on Sunday, a day after actor Dana Carvey debuted an impression of him. Reacting to a clip of the segment, Musk wrote, "'SNL' has been dying slowly for years, as they become increasingly out of touch with reality."
In the SNL episode that aired on November 9, the shows' cast jokingly claimed to have been Trump supporters all along in order to avoid being on his enemy list when he begins his second term as president.
As the skit was nearing to its end, Kenan Thompson sarcastically said that in a worst case scenario, "We can all go to Mars with the other man that we love and trust," Musk. Soon after, Carvey entered the stage impersonating the billionaire, wearing a black "Make America Great Again" (MAGA) hat.

He jumped around the stage and said, "I run the country now. America's going to be like one of my rockets: they are super cool and super-fun, but there's a slight chance it could blow up and everybody dies."
Musk commented saying, "Their last -ditch effort to cheat the equal airtime requirements and prop up Kamala before the election only helped sink her campaign further." He referred to Kamala Harris's appearance on the show prior to the Election Day.

After Harris's cameo, NBC filed a notice with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and said it would give Donald Trump equal time. Trump addressed the viewers during a NASCAR Cup playoff that aired on the channel the next day.
The Tesla CEO criticized Carvey's performance in another X post writing, "Dana Carvey just sounds like Dana Carvey. They are so mad that Trump won the election and agreed with a user who claimed more people have seen the sketch on X than on "SNL".
