Ektaa Kapoor has been known for her signature teeka, jewellery and a certain look. While many have lauded her individualistic style, she has also invited many memes. The 49-year-old opened up about how she took it in her stride, at the recent trailer launch of The Sabarmati Report.
Ektaa Kapoor reacts to jokes about her look
Ektaa shared, "I used to wear teeka on forehead. So many jokes and memes were made on me, on my bangles and rings, and that I wore my Hinduism on myself, that I started believing that if ever I medidate or recite my mantras, people will make jokes out of it too. There was a time when we did puja secretly saying I don't believe in rituals, I'd go with you."

"Why do we need to feel shy about it, about the way we speak, dress? When you wear pant-shirt and speak English, people give you respect," she added, calling The Sabarmati Report “a social commentary.”
Ektaa was also asked whether she and the team consulted Prime Minister Modi, who was the Chief Minister of Gujarat at the time of the incident. Ektaa clarified, "I am not associated with any wing. The only wing here is the wing of truth, and it's the flight of that wing."
