Director Sudhir Mishra is back with the second season ofTanaav, which is currently streaming on SonyLiv. The show, produced by Applause Entertainment, is headlined by Manav Vij. In an exclusive interview with Zoom, the director spoke about the content of the new season and said that it is a political thriller set in Kashmir about human suffering rather than two religions. Sudhir Mishra on Tanaav 2In a conversation with Zoom, director Sudhir Mishra said, “I’m not calling attention. Sameer (CEO of Applause Entertainment) asked me to make an adaptation of Fauda. Naturally, we sit together and think about it; either we come to something or we don’t. Fortunately, we came to a point where we told a story about the same country, not about two religions, about the ambitions, pain, sufferings, and losses in the context of Kashmir. It’s also a thriller, so you follow those rules as well.” He added that the content is “balanced, has shades of gray, and obviously anti-terrorism.”

He is not the only one; recently, in an exclusive interview with Zoom, Arslan Goni, who played an important role in the show, spoke about how Kashmir is being shown in Tanaav 2 and said, “I certainly believe that there are certain emotions, no matter where you are on this earth. A 16-year-old child—they have an emotion of love—an emotion of love for a mother, for her children. All these emotions will always survive. The only thing that depends is channelising of the energy. Now if I give a ball instead of a stone, they’ll prefer to play with the ball. Now, if I ask young kids to make noise or run a shop, they would want to do the latter to earn money.”
Tanaav 2 has a stellar star cast. Besides Manav Vij and Arslan Goni, it also features Rajat Kapoor, Arbaaz Khan, Sahiba Bali, Ekta Kaul, Rocky Raina, Mir Sarwar, Satyadeep Dubey, Soni Razdan, and Sukhmani Sadana.
