Director Sudhir Mishra'sTanaav 2 is streaming on Sony Liv and is being received well. Known for having a strong socio-political opinion on various global happenings, Mishra has shown the plight and the beauty of Kashmir in Taanav 2. In an exclusive chat with Zoom, the director says that Tanaav made him a better filmmaker.
Kashmir's portrayal in Tanaav 2
According to Mishra, Taanav reflects Kashmir quite well. He says, “What we are proud of is that we show Kashmir in its shades and in its glories its problems and its complexity. In the beauty of its people and the beauty of its landscape. It’s made from the inside, so it’s as if the Kashmiris are making it.”

I am a better filmmaker after making Tanaav
Sudhir underlines the importance of Tanaav and says, “I think I’m a better filmmaker after making Taanav. Work influences you. It is not just you that manipulates the work. It’s the whole environment of work. You enjoy it. You understand the land, the people, the landscape. Those people also teach you. So, now we know Kashmir a bit more than we did and I hope through us, people know more.
Talking about his outspoken nature, Sudhir Mishra says, "Everybody has had low moments. I have had many low moments. I have survived because of great people like Sameer Nair and many other people. I say what I say. I'm not an easy person. But I'm not a sensation. I'm not a guy who needs to insult, offend. I sometimes say what I do. My problem is if I stop myself from saying what I do, it reflects on my work."
