Kannada film Chowkidar, helmed by director Chandrasekhar Bandiyappa of Rathavara fame has wrapped up the first phase of shooting in Andaman Nicobar Island.
Shooting in Andaman Nicobar Islands
Chowkidar becomes the only second Kannada to be shot extensively on Andaman and Nicobar Islands after Dr Shivarajkumar’s 1998 film Andaman.
Directed by P H Vishwanath, Andaman features Shivanna, Monisha, Dattanna, Vinaya Prasad and Sumanth. It also marked the debut of Niveditha Shivarajkumar, daughter of Shivarajkumar as a child artist in the film.
Of the 53 days of first phase shooting of Chowkidar, the team have shot at least 10 days in the scenic Andaman-Nicobar Islands.
The picturesque location, known for its natural beauty, has been featured in very few Kannada films with Chowkidar marking its latest appearance.

Pan-India project
The film is being produced on a pan-India scale by Kallahalli Chandrasekhar. The team aims to deliver a visual spectacle with its high production values. Along with director Chandrashekhar Bandiyappa, the cast and crew include lead actors Pruthvi Ambaar, Dhanya Ramkumar, senior actor Saikumar. Choreographer Muruli Master took part in the Andaman schedule.
Pruthvi Ambaar, known for his lover boy image is set to undergo a transformation in Chowkidar. Chandrashekhar Bandiappa, aiming to showcase a new dimension of the actor, has crafted a rugged, mass look for Pruthvi Ambaar, departing from his romantic roles. The film promises to present him in an action-packed and unconventional avatar.
The music for Chowkidar is composed by Sachin Basrur with lyrics written by V. Nagendra Prasad, Pramod Maravanthe and Santhosh Naik.
