New Delhi: Due to repairing of leakage in 500mm dia Rising Main emanating from Chandrawal Water Works inside premises of Dr. Ambedkar National Memorial, Civil Lines, the potable water supply will be affected for 12 hours on 20 September, starting at 11:00 AM. This shutdown will impact water supply from Chandrawal Water Works.

The affected areas include Civil Lines, Hindu Rao Hospital and nearby locations, Kamla Nagar, Shakti Nagar and surrounding areas, Karol Bagh, Paharganj and NDMC areas, Old and New Rajinder Nagar, Patel Nagar (East and West), Baljeet Nagar, Prem Nagar, Inderpuri and nearby areas, as well as parts of the Cantonment and South Delhi.

The toll in a building collapse incident in Delhi's Karol Bagh has increased to 3 while 14 people have been injured in the mishap. A rescue operation is meanwhile underway. The incident was reported in the morning around 9 am and the locals said the multi-storey building collapsed at around 7-7:30 in the morning. Five tenders were rushed to the site.
Many people were feared to be trapped under the rubble. "At around 9 am information of a building collapse was received at Prasad Nagar Police Station from the area of Bapa Nagar. An old building of approximately 25 square yards' area has collapsed," DCP Central M Harsh Vardhan said.
"So far 15 people have been rescued, operation is underway. It is being told that it was a 4-storey building and a room was built on the fifth floor. It is being told that one more person is feared to be trapped. One person has died. Legal action will be taken as per the law," he added.
"This building was very old. So far, a total of eight people have been rescued and sent to hospital. Some more people are still feared trapped. Local police and all other agencies are involved in the rescue operation. NDRF teams have also reached here," the DCP further said.
