Delhi University Students' Union DUSU Election 2024 results will now release after October 21. Originally, the DUSU polls were scheduled for today but due to Delhi High Court's order, the counting will be done only after the next hearing i.e. on October 21. The state court halted counting process over defacement of public property by candidates.
As per a PTI report, Rajesh Singh, Returning Officer for DUSU elections said that DUSU polls will be held after October 21. DU election was held yesterday in two phases with more than 1.45 lakh students casting their votes. The counting of votes was to be held today.

"This court directs that the elections process may proceed yet no counting of votes shall take place either on Delhi University (Students' Union) elections or on college elections till this court is satisfied that posters, hoardings, graffiti, spray paints are removed and public property is restored," the court had said in the previous hearing.

As per the office of chief election officer, DUSU, as many as 1,45,893 students from 52 colleges had cast their votes in two phases yesterday to elect a new president, vice president, secretary and joint secretary.
The main contest in DUSU elections is between NSUI AND ABVP. In this year's election, NSUI has fielded Rounak Khatri as president, Yash Nandal as vice president, Namrata Jeph Meena as secretary, and Lokesh Choudhary as Joint Secretary. While ABVP had named Rishabh Choudhary for President, Bhanu Pratap Singh for Vice President, Mitravinda Karanwal as secretary and Aman Kapasiya as Joint Secretary.
In the 2023 election, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) won three out of the four central panel seats, including the presidential post. Tushar Dedha of the ABVP was elected president while NSUI's Abhi Dahiya, the only NSUI winner, was chosen vice-president of the Students' Union.
