New Delhi: At least five people were injured after a fire broke out at a house in Nand Lal Bhawan, Shani Bazar Road, Kishangarh, New Delhi on Wednesday. The incident occurred at around 3:27 AM. The Station House Officer (SHO) of Kishangarh and his team quickly arrived at the scene, where a fire was blazing in a two-room flat on the fourth floor. The fire was brought under control, however, all household items were destroyed.
Five people, including a woman, suffered injuries and were immediately taken to the hospital by police vehicles. Upon investigation, it was found that a five-member family, lived in the flat as tenants.
Initial findings suggested that the incident might have happened due a leaking LPG cylinder, but later the cylinder was found to be safe. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
At Safdurjung Hospital, three injured individuals have been admitted – Anita Mandal, age 40, Laxmi Mandal, age 42 and Deepak Mandal, age 20.
The two other injured individuals have been admitted to the AIIMS Trauma Centre's New Burn and Plastic Surgery Ward-Sunny Mandal, age 22 and Aakash Mandal, age 16. Their condition is serious.
A mobile crime team and forensic team have been called to the scene. Local inquiries revealed that Laxmi Mandal works as a private gardener, while his two older sons work for Blinkit. His younger son is still studying, and Anita Mandal is a housewife.
