New Delhi: A juvenile was on Friday arrested in the alleged double-murder took place on Diwali evening in Shahdara’s Farsh Bazar area in the national capital. The police found out that the 17-year-old accused was a distant relative of the victims who was in a conflict with the victim over some money matters. Following that, the teen hired a shooter to kill the man. A CCTV video caught the entire incident purportedly showing the shooter firing a bullet at the 40-year-old victim.
Apart from the elderly man, his teenage nephew was also killed while his 15-year-old son sustained injuries, the police affirmed. The incident came to light when the Farsh Bazar Police Station had received a PCR call at 8.23 pm, detailing the incident in Bihari Colony.
Upon reaching there, the police learnt that three injured persons were already admitted to a hospital by locals. The 40-year-old man was declared dead upon arrival, while a 16-year-old boy died during the treatment. Meanwhile, a 15-year-old boy received injuries.
“Promised Rs 70,000 But Refused Later”
The police learnt that the 40-year-old victim, Akash Sharma, had promised to give an amount of Rs 70,000 to the accused teen. However, the victim later refused to give that money, leading to a dispute between the two.

"During interrogation, he said that he was having a financial dispute of Rs 70,000 with Akash. Investigations are still on and we are trying to nab the shooter," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Prashant Gautam.
The incident took place when the victim’s family was celebrating Diwali outside their home in Bihar Colony, Gali number 1. It is when the two accused came there riding a scooty. They stood near the victim, and then opened fire. One of the accused was wearing a mask. First he touched feet to seek blessing from the victim, and then shot him dead.
