New Delhi: A man died and his 18-year-old daughter was injured when their motorcycle was hit by a truck on Monday. The accident took place near Shiv Mandir Red Light on MB Road, Pul Prahladpur. The deceased has been identified as Kuldeep Singh, 45, a resident of Pul Prahladpur.
Delhi Police said it had received a PCR call at around 1 pm about an accident in Pul Prahladpur police station in south east Delhi. "The call said a motorcycle was hit by a truck. In response, the police immediately reached the spot, where it was found that the motorcycle had been hit by a MCD truck," the Delhi Police said in a statement.
The victims were rushed to the hospital. However, Kuldeep Singh was declared brought dead on arrival. The victim's daughter is currently undergoing treatment. During the inspection conducted by the police, the motorcycle and truck have been taken into possession. On reaching the spot the police found the truck driver had fled from the spot.
A case has been registered against the driver under Section 281 (rash and negligent driving) Section 106(1) (any person who causes death not amounting to culpable homicide) and Section 125(A) (endangering life) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Delhi Police teams are carrying out raids to arrest the offending driver.
