Rishabh Pant leaving Delhi Capitals (DC) before the IPL 2025 mega-auction was one of the biggest stories. Rishabh joined DC in 2016 and spent 9 years with them. DC backed Rishabh and he was retained before the IPL 2018 and 2022 mega-auctions. Rishabh was DC's first-choice retention in 2022 and had a salary of Rs 16 crore for 3 years.
Given that Rishabh was DC's homegrown player, he wasn't expected to leave the franchise. But the two parties couldn't agree to a deal. Axar Patel was DC's first-choice retention and he will have a salary of Rs 16.50 crore.
Kuldeep Yadav was DC's second-choice retention and he will have a salary of Rs 13.25 crore. Tristan Stubbs will stay with DC for Rs 10 crore while uncapped Abhishek Porel will have a salary of Rs 4 crore.
DC will have a purse of Rs 73 crore going into the mega-auction. They have two Right-to-Match cards left and can use them on capped players.
