Vihaan Samat on CTRL

Revealing the USP of CTRL, Vihaan told Zoom, “CTRL can be very rooted and hard-hitting. It’s a slice-of-life film, which is characteristic of many Vikramaditya Motwane films, so that tone was there.” He further added, “CTRL is thought-provoking, hard-hitting, very intellectual, and it will make you question what you know about the world.”

Speaking about his experience working with Ananya Panday, Vihaan shared, "I went to school with Ananya. We were in different classes. From the get-go, I thought she was very easy-going and chill. When I met her for CTRL, she was just as approachable, friendly, and down-to-earth. Those first impressions stayed. She’s very fun to talk to, shares random stories, and gets excited about things you don’t expect. She’s honestly a delight to work with.”

On how he picks projects, Vihaan said, "I choose projects that challenge me. A project should have layered characters and a lot of thought behind it. I’m drawn to people who are genuinely conflicted, not just for the sake of it. That allows me to do something different."

He also shared his mindset on his career: "I’ve told myself that if I’m 80 years old and on my deathbed, I don’t want to have any regrets. I would regret it if I did something else. I’ve given my life to this, and it has to happen. Whatever comes to me is not in my control. But I’ll do my best. It’s not easy to keep your head up when you hit low moments, but you have to take things one day at a time. You’ve got to remind yourself that it's just a bad day, and tomorrow will be better."

When asked whether Mismatched was the turning point of his career, Vihaan said, “It was my first project, and it became a hit on OTT. It was more of a starting point than a turning point. I was very happy and grateful. I knew yeh hona hi tha (this was bound to happen). It was a relatable, fun show that people enjoyed watching.”
