Saltwater crocodile
The saltwater crocodile is the largest living crocodilian species, found in Asia and Australia. In India, they inhabit the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the Sundarbans in West Bengal and Bhitarkanika National Park in Odisha.
Mugger
The mugger is a freshwater crocodile species. This medium-sized crocodilian can be found through the Indian subcontinent, in rivers, lakes, marshes, reservoirs and even saltwater lagoons.
Gharial
The gharial, sometimes called the fish-eating crocodile, actually belongs to the Gavialidae family of semiaquatic crocodilians. This long-snouted reptile is among the largest crocodilian species and can be found in the freshwaters of Himalayan rivers.
