Delhi: A Captain in the Indian Army, identified as Captain Renu, was found dead by suicide at an Army Cantonment guest house in Delhi on October 15, just a day after her husband died in Agra. Her husband, a Lieutenant in the Indian Army, reportedly took his own life during the night of October 14-15.

The Delhi Police were informed about Captain Renu's death on Wednesday, where a suicide note was found at the scene. The note expressed her desire to depart alongside her husband. Captain Renu was discovered hanging in the guest house, deepening the sorrowful situation. The note mentioned that the deceased wanted to be ''cremated hand-in hand'' with her husband Deendayal Deep.

In a separate incident, an elderly man died by suicide after he jumped in front of a train at Tagore Garden Metro Station of the Delhi Metro network's Blue line in West Delhi on Friday evening. According to police, the 60-year-old man was a resident of Subhash Nagar and was suffering from depression for the past few months.

The man was reportedly a retired National Informatics Centre (NIC) employee. The incident took place at platform number 2 of the metro station after which the train services were halted at the station and the Blue line for a brief period, reported PTI.

An officer said the incident was caught on a CCTV camera. The deceased was identified as Chander Prakash Dawar. His body was shifted to DDU hospital.

Last month, a 50-year-old man committed suicide by jumping in front of a train at Yamuna Bank metro station on the Blue line of Delhi Metro. A suicide note was recovered from the man's possession in which he mentioned that he took the extreme step due to financial hardship and health issues, police said. The man was identified as Naveen, a resident of the Gandhi Nagar area.
