Add this tasty chickpea-based dip to you Diwali snack platter to impress your guests with a tasty, spicy twist on regular hummus.
Ingredients
1 cup Soaked Chickpeas, 2 tbsp Sesame Seeds, 1 tsp Mustard, 1/4 tsp Fenugreek Seeds, 2 Green Chillies, 6-7 Garlic Cloves, 1 tsp Lemon Juice, Pinch of Hing, Salt to taste
Step 1
Soak the sesame seeds for 2 hours, then grind them into a smooth paste.
Step 2
Roast the mustard and fenugreek seeds with a pinch of hing until fragrant, then grind them into a fine powder.
Step 3
Soak the chickpeas overnight, then pressure cook them until soft.
Step 4
In a blender, combine the cooked chickpeas, sesame paste, green chillies, garlic cloves, lemon juice, salt, and powdered spices.
Step 5
Blend until creamy, then transfer the hummus to a serving bowl, and garnish with whole chickpeas and chopped coriander.
Use Ice
While blending, add a few tablespoons of ice water instead of regular water. This helps to create a smoother, creamier texture.
