Coimbatore: A 19-year-old boy jumped off from the fourth floor of his hostel building, believing that he has superpowers. The BTech student of Karpagam College of Engineering at Myleripalayam near Malumichampatti in the district jumped off the hostel building on Monday evening.
With fractured legs, hands and severe injuries to his head, A Prabhu is undergoing treatment at a private hospital. The incident happened as Prabhu believed he had superpowers. Police said that he would tell his roommates and friends that he has superpowers to jump on any building, a Times of India report said.
A Prabhu, from Mekkur village near Perundurai in Erode district, was studying in the third year of BTech (Artificial Intelligence and Data Science) at the college and was staying at the college hostel.

A few days back, he also told his friends and roommates that someone had performed sorcery on him and he would be affected by the black magic in last week, the report added.
On Monday around 6.30 pm, he was on the fourth floor of the hostel and a group of students were chatting on the veranda of the hostel.
He suddenly jumped off the fourth floor and hit the ground sustaining severe fractures to his hands and legs and suffering injuries to his head. Other students rushed him to Karpagam Hospital at Othakkalmandapam on the city outskirts. From here. he was transferred to Ganga Hospital in Coimbatore.
