The maximum temperature is expected to be 34 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to be 27 degrees Celsius. Relative humidity is fluctuating between 79 percent and 82 percent.

With continuous showers expected in the city, Chennai is likely to receive a week-long rainfall. On October 26, the city is forecasted to experience thunderstorms with rain. The maximum temperature is expected to be 34 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature will be 27 degrees Celsius. Then, on October 27 and 28, the city is likely to witness a generally cloudy sky with light rain. The maximum temperature is expected to be 34 degrees Celsius, with the minimum ranging between 27 and 28 degrees Celsius. Later, on October 29 and 30, the city is anticipated to receive more rain. Temperatures are expected to remain constant, with the maximum being 35 degrees Celsius and the minimum 28 degrees Celsius.

Tamil Nadu on Yellow Alert

The weather department has issued a yellow alert across Tamil Nadu. Areas including Thirunelveli, Tenkasi, Chennai, Thoothukudi, Kanyakumari, Ramanathapuram, Dindigul, Theni, Pudukkottai, Thanjavur, Nagapattinam, Karur, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, and surrounding regions are on yellow alert for thunderstorms and lightning.

Will Cyclone Dana Affect Chennai?

According to weather forecasters, Cyclone Dana may affect parts of South Tamil Nadu and Kerala. However, coastal areas like Chennai will not be significantly affected, and the city will experience warm days due to a weak Northeast Monsoon. A weather forecaster on X (formerly Twitter), identified as Chennai Rains, explained in a post, “As #CycloneDana heads towards the #Odisha coast for landfall later tonight, widespread #rains are likely over South #Kerala along with parts of South #TamilNadu for the next 3 to 4 days. Meanwhile, coastal places like #Chennai will see warm days due to weak #NEM2024 conditions.”
