Chennai Rain News: According to weather experts, the Cyclone “Fengal” is expected to make its landfall on Saturday, November 30, with wind speed ranging from 60 to 90 km/h. Amid this, Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Kallakurichi and Mayiladuthurai districts are expected to see heavy rains and gutsy winds. Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu government has ordered to close schools in Chennai, and other places where the cyclone is likely to impact more. IT Companies have also been requested to allow work from home facility to their employees. Amid all of this, public transport has also been suspended in Chennai for maintaining public safety.
Residents are advised not to go outdoors until it is important. "The general public are requested to cooperate fully with the disaster prevention measures taken by the Government of Tamil Nadu," read an official statement by the state government.
