Chennai Rains School Holiday Live: In light of incessant rain and IMD alert, Chennai school holiday was announced for today. District collector, Rashmi Siddharth Zagade has declared a holiday for all schools in the city. India Meteorological Department, IMD has issued a yellow alert across multiple districts, with alerts set for 12 districts on November 12, 17 districts on November 13, 27 districts on November 14, and 25 districts on November 15.
School holiday will be extended depending upon the weather conditions. Students and parents are advised to contact the respective school administration for updates. Chennai administration has also urged the companies to provide work from home to minimise the public commute.
The Regional Meteorological Centre, Chennai, has issued a heavy rainfall alert for today in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Pudukkottai, Ramanathapuram, Villuppuram districts, Puducherry, and Karaikal area.
