Blackpink's Jennie is set for her much-anticipated solo comeback that's going to happen in October. Taking stakes higher this time is her collaboration with USA record label Columbia Records. The K-pop diva's personal agency OA Entertainment (ODD ATELIER) made the announcement on September 9.

As per Korean media, the statement by her agency read, "In a statement shared by Jennie’s personal agency OA Entertainment (ODD ATELIER), they confirmed Jennie's solo comeback in October."

This comes after Jennie’s label dropped a cryptic post on Sunday, that included a mysterious teaser leaving fans speculating about the rapper’s highly-awaited debut solo album.

Jennie's solo debut with You and Me

Her return as a soloist comes exactly a year after the release of her first single You and Me. The track was released through YG Entertainment and Interscope Records on October 6, 2023. Jennie followed it up with her performance during Blackpink’s BORN PINK World Tour.

Jennie previous collaborations

This is not the first time Jennie is teaming up with an international artiste or label. She associated with American rapper Matt Champion for Slow Motion, which was released on March 8, 2024. She also collaborated with South Korean rapper Zico on the single Spot. on April 26 this year was received with a lot of love by her fans.

In the meantime, Jennie dropped One of the Girls in June last year, alongside The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp, her co-stars from HBO’s The Idol that also marked her acting debut under her stage name Jennie Ruby Jane.

Even since the members of Blackpink – Jennie, Lisa, Rose and Jisoo decided not renew their individual contracts with the label in December 2023, the four artistes have been doing their independent work.

Blackpink recently marked its 8th anniversary that had the four artistes reuniting to celebrate the big day with a fan meet.
