bjp's pravin darekar labels anil deshmukh’s autobiography as 'besharmi', criticises mva

Amid Seat Sharing arrangements in Alliance, internal conflicts emerged in MVA leaders. Between this, former Maharashtra Home Minister came out with his autobiography. BJP leader and MLC Praveen Darekar launched a scathing attack on NCP leader Anil Deshmukh and the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance. Darekar criticized Deshmukh for releasing his autobiography despite the corruption charges against him. The autobiography of Anil Deshmukh, titled “Diary of a Home Minister: Truth. Nothing But The Whole Truth,” presents his version of the events during his tenure as Maharashtra’s Home Minister.

Referring to the MVA’s inconclusive seat-sharing discussions, Darekar said, “I believe the MVA has become dysfunctional. None of their seat-sharing formulas are working. They are trying to show unity for the sake of seat distribution, but their internal conflicts are obvious. They don’t respect each other, and the cracks are visible. Congress President Nana Patole addresses Uddhav Thackeray with disrespect, and Shiv Sena will not tolerate such behavior.

Pravin Darekar slammed Anil Deshmukh for his autobiography, calling it a shameless attempt to rebuild his image. “Deshmukh, who faces charges of a ₹100 crore corruption scandal, was arrested in front of the entire nation. His reputation is already tarnished, and no book can change that. Even if he writes ten books, it won’t erase the corruption he was involved in. This is just an election gimmick to clear his name, but the people of Maharashtra are well aware of the corruption within the police department under his leadership.”

On the topic of the ruling Mahayuti coalition’s leadership, Darekar made it clear that their alliance is united, stating, “Mahayuti has three faces: Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar. We will contest the elections with this strong leadership.”

With his remarks, Darekar emphasized the strength of the Mahayuti coalition while casting doubts on the internal dynamics and leadership of the MVA.
