Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Movie Review: Direction and Writing
Director Anees Bazmee is a master of comedy and slapstick. He weaves humour into the story seamlessly. Some jokes and punchlines land correctly but there are misfires too. Anees takes his own time to establish the backstory inBhool Bhulaiyaa 3. It is detailed, tight and connects loose ends. The staging of drama holds the film together. He celebrates his leading hero, Kartik Aaryan, like never before. Building drama around the mystery of Manjulika and her identity might seem predictable at first, but allow the story to wash off the superficial layer of thrill and enigma before the actual diamond shines. It’s all about deception till the climax unfolds.
Writer Aakash Kaushik’s smart writing plays a key role in adding a crescendo to the story. A pun onShehzada, references to Jawan and even Border’s Sandese Aate Hai fit perfectly at unexpected junctures. They work brilliantly and give a distinct flavour to the horror-comedy which is more than just a fun watch. This Bhool Bhulaiyaa will keep you entertained till the last second.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Movie Review: Hits and Misses
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is thoroughly engaging and entertaining. Comedy is a tricky subject. The film resorts to cliché jokes and dramatics with characters like Chhote Pandit (Rajpal Yadav), Bade Pandit (Sanjay Mishra) and Panditain (Ashwini Kalsekar). They barely get some meat to chew onto.
The scares are effective but never bone-chilling. It is enigmatic, mysterious and deceptive. Anees plays with the concept of deception pretty well with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Movie Review: Performances
Kartik Aaryan ventures into a new territory with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Using his charm to cast the magic of Rooh Baba on the audience, the actor owns the film. He pours his heart and soul into the movie and makes his character believable and lovable. Triptii Dimri looks stunning in sarees. She is the catalyst of the film. Her chemistry with Kartik is sweet. Triptii plays her part earnestly but the character sketch seems incomplete.
Vidya Balan’s return to the franchise was the talk of the town. Was it worth the hype? Definitely! The new version of Manjulika has an air of suspense and thrill. She carries herself with grace and her expressions talk louder than words. Vidya’s presence adds weight to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and her face-off with Madhuri Dixit is magical. Madhuri Dixit enters the franchise with a special appearance. Ami Je Tomar 3.0 is just one of the key highlights of her performance. Madhuri steals the thunder when she’s on-screen and enhances a mediocre character sketch with her charisma.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Movie Review: Verdict
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is a perfect family entertainer. A new adventure with Rooh Baba awaits and this shouldn’t be missed!
