To the outer world, MS Dhoni is the model cricketer and captain as he rarely displays his emotions publicly and manages to maintain a sense of calm regardless of the match situation. However, a former teammate has revealed that is not always the scene in the dressing room.
Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacer Mohit Sharma, who played for India under the 2011 World Cup-winning captain, revealed that they have received a lot of abuse from Dhoni if they make a mistake. However, he revealed that Dhoni always tells them to keep on-field activites restricted to the ground.
"We've got a lot of abuses from him. But he always says, what happens on the field, stays there. Later, he will make you understand but never be angry with you. I have heard a lot from him. Being a fast bowler, you tend to lose focus. Pay attention to what's happening behind you. If he waves at you and you are facing towards some other end. If someone from the public says something and you react. Because of things like this, I've copped a lot of flak from him," said Mohit on the 2 Sloggers Podcast.

Mohit further revealed that Deepak Chahar has been one bowler that has had to face the wrath of Dhoni on multiple occasions. Mohit recalled an incident from 2019 when the five-time IPL-winning captain lost his cool on the pacer.
"Deepak Chahar has also received a lot of abuses. He too has a story. In 2019, Deepak was playing, and I was not. The game was in Chennai, and everyone was sweating profusely. He bowled a knuckle ball that I think was a full toss or something, which was hit for either a four or a six.

"Dhoni bhai told him not to bowl it again. He said, 'ok Mahi bhai'. After bowling the next 2-3 ball, he bowled the knuckle ball again which this time went over the head of the batter," Mohit added.

Mohit Sharma started his IPL career in 2013 with CSK under Dhoni's captaincy and was an instant hit. In the 2014 season, Mohit won the purple cap. Mohit was a key part of the Indian team that reached the T20 World Cup final in 2014 and Cricket World Cup semi-final in 2015 under Dhoni's captaincy.
