Bengaluru: The murder of a 29-year-old woman, Mahalakshmi Das, has shaken Bengaluru. Her dismembered body, cut into more than 30 pieces, was discovered in a refrigerator in her apartment on September 21. As per the latest update, city police have identified the prime suspect with Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara promising swift action on it.

What Happened?

Mahalakshmi Das, who worked at an apparel store in a mall, was found murdered in her flat on Pipeline Road in Vyalikaval, Bengaluru. Her body, chopped into over 30 pieces, was stored in a refrigerator. The gruesome discovery was made by her mother and sister, who were called to the apartment by the building owner after noticing a foul smell.

Even the police had to enter the crime scene wearing masks due to the strong odour.

6. Murder Similarities: The case is reminiscent of the Shraddha Walkar murder in Delhi in 2022, where the victim's body was similarly dismembered and stored in a fridge.

7.Victim Never Interacted Much: The discovery has left the neighbourhood in shock. Neighbours mentioned that Mahalakshmi did not interact much and that they were unaware she was married.
