Bengaluru: Silicon Valley is experiencing an unusual cold spell, with temperatures dropping significantly due to the impact of Cyclone Fengal, which recently made landfall in Tamil Nadu. For today, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts a minimum temperature of 19 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 22 degrees Celsius, accompanied by generally cloudy skies and moderate rainfall.

6-Day Weather Forecast for Bengaluru

December 3: Min 19 degrees Celsius / Max 23 degrees Celsius – Generally cloudy with moderate rain.

December 4: Min 18 degrees Celsius / Max 24 degrees Celsius – Generally cloudy with light rain.

December 5: Min 18 degrees Celsius / Max 24 degrees Celsius – Generally cloudy with light rain.

December 6: Min 18 degrees Celsius / Max 25 degrees Celsius – Partly cloudy skies.

December 7: Min 18 degrees Celsius / Max 25 degrees Celsius– Partly cloudy skies.

December 8: Min 18 degrees Celsius / Max 25 degrees Celsius– Partly cloudy skies.

The overcast skies and persistent chill have residents bundling up to cope with the cooler conditions. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bengaluru’s daytime temperatures are likely to stay under 25 degrees Celsius, while nights will hover between 20 degrees Celsius and 21 degrees Celsius. Light rain and partly cloudy skies are forecasted until December 6, with the weather expected to remain cool and cloudy, marking an early transition to winter.

Reportedly, Dr. N. Puviarasan, head of IMD Bengaluru, attributed the drop in temperatures to the cyclone’s aftermath, which has brought complete cloud cover to the city, preventing daytime heating. Additionally, light to moderate rainfall is expected across Bengaluru until December 5.

While Cyclone Fengal primarily impacted Tamil Nadu, its residual effects have provided Bengaluru with a sneak peek of winter, offering a refreshing change to its weather patterns.
