Bengaluru: One day of heavy rain in the country’s IT hub has led to chaos on roads with lines of vehicles seen on flyovers that are severely flooded after hours of rain on Tuesday. Users have taken to social media to share videos Manyata Tech Park, Geddalahalli Railway Underbridge and the RGA Tech park junction among others as rain pounds the city.

As of now, the Karnataka government has declared a holiday for schools for tomorrow (October 16) in the city. Colleges would remain open but a decision could be taken if showers don't recede.

The Bengaluru Civic Body, BBMP has meanwhile released helpline numbers for people to complain and seek help amid heavy rain in the city.

Traffic Near Manyata Tech Park, Towards Airport Hit

The Bengaluru City traffic police took to X and shared updates regarding the traffic congestion in Bengaluru. It said that due to heavy water Logging at Boopasandra, RMV 2nd Stage Railway under pass is temporarily closed for two-wheelers.

Severe flooding is seen on ORR between Kadubeesanahalli and Marathalli leading to slow traffic movement in the area. Reports of uprooting of trees have also come with traffic severely hit at Ashoka pillar towards RV Road, Ashoka Pillar Road. The road has been temporarily closed.

On the other hand, Nagawara flyover near Manyata Tech Park is waterlogged causing slow movement of vehicles on both sides.

Heavy waterlogging on KIA road (Bellary Road) at Hunsamaranahalli has hit the traffic towards the Bengaluru airport. Traffic police has asked the commuters to plan their travel accordingly and use alternate routes.

Moreover, slow-moving traffic due to water logging is being witnessed at:

1. KIA road (Bellary Road) at Hunsamaranahalli

2. Windsor Manor Underpass towards Palace Guttahalli

3. Panathur Railway Underpass – Balegere road

4. On Inner ring road, Domlur towards 17th main road, Indiranagar

While residents try to bear the chaos caused by heavy rain in Bengaluru, the cricket fans have another reason to be sad as the India-New Zealand test match couldn't start that was supposed to take place in Bengaluru's M Chinnaswamy Stadium today.
