Bengaluru: A man has been booked allegedly for brutally thrashing a cat and leaving her in a bucket on terrace to die. The cat belonged to the flatmate of the accused, and was attacked for dirtying the latter’s room in a flat in BTM layout. The incident has sparked outrage among netizens after Aftab, the owner of the victim cat, shared a video on social media, alleging animal cruelty.
Aftab said he had been constantly travelling back and forth to his hometown as his father is not well. In a self-recorded video, Aftab said the incident took place on November 26. A FIR was filed on November 28 evening, the pet’s owner said.
The cat owner said he had received a call from the accused Manish Ratnakar, mentioning that his pet pooped in his room. Ratnakar threatened him saying he wanted to throw the cat out of the house.

When Aftab looked for the cat everywhere, he found her injured on a bucket on the terrace.
Pet Might Get Brain Haemorrage
Zaara, the pet, was badly injured. Her mouth was bleeding, she was breathing heavily and was in pain. Aftab asked Ratnakar about the incident. To which, the latter replied that he was annoyed by the cat so he kicked her off in anger, said a report by BangaloreMirror.
In his video, Aftab also said that he observed blood stains on different walls. He alleged that the accused did not just kick off the cat, as the accused claimed, but brutally thrashed him on walls.
The cat was taken to a hospital thereafter. Doctors said that she is traumatised badly, and not able to hear properly from the left ear. She is on fluid. If the trauma causes any more damage, then the cat might have brain hemorrhage, said Aftab in a social media post
